The New Professionals Committee plans social events around the Chicago area as a fun way to network with like-minded peers and to reconnect with former classmates and coworkers.
Your committee has been working hard this summer to make 2020-2021 another great year for exciting networking opportunities. For the 2020-2021 CSIFT year, we are looking forward to increasing New Professional involvement not only within Chicago Section but throughout IFT as a whole.
Our objective is to bring a sense of comfort to those new in the industry. We help recent graduates get their foot in the door leading to success within this vast yet very small food community. If we can help ease newcomers into Chicago’s food community, we feel confident it will help them develop the necessary skills to form connections personally and professionally.
This year we are rotating the days of the week the events are held and continuing to spread out our event locations throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. We will post events as soon as they are planned and open registration a couple weeks prior to the event.
We are planning an exciting mix of events this year: brewery tours, wine tastings, golf events, cooking classes, trivia night, volunteer opportunities, and, of course, Whirlyball.
