You will learn the basics of our sensory systems, how to do better sensory tests (even at the benchtop), and most importantly have fun testing and improving your tasting abilities during an interactive virtual taste test.
We will also touch on methods to analyze organoleptic results.
Dr. Alyssa Bakke
Dr. Alyssa Bakke earned her PhD at the University of Minnesota with Dr. Zata Vickers and spent 7 years working as a senior sensory scientist in the research and development department at Land O’Lakes.
Since 2014, Alyssa has worked for the Department of Food Science at Penn State providing technical and instructional guidance for the Penn State Sensory Evaluation Center and the Food Science Department. Alyssa is passionate about sensory science and most especially sharing how we can use the principles of sensory science to improve our work and lives.
