CALL FOR PAPERS: Technology - It's Changing the Way We Eat

We are planning for another great Suppliers' Symposium and are looking for speakers.

Topic: TECHNOLOGY: It's Changing the Way We Eat

Technology isn't just changing the way we communicate, it's changing the way we eat. Sharing food snaps on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter have grown into a worldwide phenomenon.

The Symposium will be offered either at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center OR Virtually. Decisions will be made in late September 2020.

  • Nutrition - Digital technologies and healthy eating
  • Innovation/Technology - Ways technology is changing our eating habits. Can technology lead us to more conscious food consumption?
  • Trends - Millennial and Gen Z Eating Habits- how they're changing the food industry
  • Relationship between social media and food science and nutrition

Selection Criteria

  1. Relevance of topic
  2. Alignment to theme
  3. Experience level of speaker
  4. Wide appeal of subject matter and speaker
  5. Technical (versus marketing)
  6. Presentation type
  7. Connection with Chicago Section IFT

We will have one panel (opening session), one keynote/panel (closing session) and a maximum of four technical sessions.


May 7-29: Call for Papers open
June 15: Speakers confirmed
June 30: Speaker bio, picture, and paper summary
October 23: Presentation due
November 4: Symposium 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM
